A Festival about Colour. They wanted me to imagine an international event that seeks to celebrate and explore the wonder of colour to be held at London Olympia Exhibition Centre. The purpose of this event would be to offer visitors a range of experiences to stimulate the imagination, provoke thought, and establish a deeper understanding and awareness of colour – its influence, meaning and properties. The festival would host a multitude of events and activities including; talks and presentations from scientists, psychologists and astronomers, colour installations and immersive experiences, collaborations between sound and light artists, an exhibition of works by colour obsessed, artists and image makers, and innovative technologies that use, display or interact with colour. They wanted me to develop a identity for the event and devise a media campaign to launch the inaugural event in 2017. My Idea | Concept: World of Colour Festival. Colour and print have been around for centuries but some people do and some people don’t know what the history and meaning of colour is about. Consumers will be able to experience a lifetime adventure around the World of Colour Festival at Olympia London and explore colour. Colour is a significant energy source for us designers and consumers to use to indicate importance of identification, mood, instructions etc. You will see life in colour. It is suitable for all audiences to interact with colour and find out more about the meaning and background of colour. Also explore the festival further by attending talks with the professionals, sit in video talks, close your eyes and listen to the wonderful sounds and moods of colour, travel around each section of the festival like separation of colour pigments and mixing them together with other colours to create something of your own or visit the print service where you will visualise vintage printer press, learn typography and when it used to be hand crafted before computers, silk screen printing plus many more. Take a look in the gift shop to take a souvenir away with you to remember this remarkable day. In the end, just have fun!
